  • Classical Pilates is a comprehensive system of physical and mental conditioning developed by Joseph Pilates. Originally called “Contrology”, the system focuses on strength, flexibility, alignment and coordination. Classical Pilates stays true to the sequence and equipment that Joe created and we believe it is the most effective way in achieving results and promoting overall well-being.

  • Joseph Pilates is the creator of “Contrology”, which is now commonly known as Pilates. He was a boxer and physical trainer from Germany. He created Contrology with his deep understanding of the human body and emphasis on the complete integration of body and mind.

  • Our studio is fully equipped with Classical Pilates apparatus that are true to Joseph Pilate’s original design, including all the large pieces: Mat, Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, Guillotine, Arm/Baby Chair, High/Electric chair, Ped-o-Pull and Ladder Barrel. We also have all the small apparatus at our disposal such as: Spine Corrector, Small Barrel, C-shaper, Foot Corrector, Toe Corrector, Hand Tensometer, Sandbag, Magic Circle, Breathacizer, Hand Tensometer and Airplane Boards.

  • Yes! Pilates is great for all ages and fitness levels. It can be tailored to address specific needs, from rehabilitating from injuries to enhancing mobility and sports performance. We also offer teen Pilates classes!

  • In most cases, yes. Please do inform your instructor about your conditions so they can tailor the exercises accordingly and it's always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional before starting a new exercise program.

  • Our teachers are differentiated based on their years of teaching experiences.

    Master Teacher: 10+ Years
    Senior Teacher: 7+ Years
    Intermediate Teachers: 3+ Years
    Junior Teachers: Graduated from a Comprehensive Classical Pilates Program

  • Apprentice Teachers are those currently in the Beyond Pilates’ Teacher Training Program and have started practice teaching as part of the program’s practicum hours.

  • To work with apprentice teachers, you must be free of injuries and able to commit to a regular practice schedule. Please contact us for more details.

  • No prior experience is needed. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, our instructors will guide you through a workout that fits your individual needs.

  • We recommend wearing comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement. Grippy socks are highly recommended to provide traction on the equipment. We have limited stock of grippy socks for sale in the studio - ask us about them!

  • Most of our classes are 55 minutes long but there are other workshops and classes that could be longer. You can find additional information in the description of each class on our booking page.

  • Consistency is key. We suggest 2-3 sessions per week to experience optimal benefits, especially when you first get started. That being said, if you can only come once a week, it’s still great for you - it just may take longer to see positive change in your body!

  • Pilates promotes overall strength and flexibility, often helps relieve pain and improves sports performance. Pilates focuses on quality of movement over quantity. It promotes mindfulness in exercise, which results in better body awareness and better overall posture and alignment.

  • As with any other exercise program, consistency is key. Pilates doesn’t guarantee weight loss, but if you are consistent with your pilates practice, it will help you achieve muscle tone, better coordination and mobility, which are great things to start with if you’re looking to lose weight.

  • Franklin Method promotes healthy function of the body through creating better body awareness, deeper anatomical understanding and usage of mental imagery. Franklin Method will allow you to understand the proper function of your body and by reinforcing proper function, you’ll achieve better movement.
