Anastasiia Viekua
Background:
Ten years ago, Anastasiia commenced her career as a fitness instructor in Ukraine, specializing in various disciplines such as aerobics, TRX, and functional training. One day, an opportunity arose for her to undertake a certification program in yoga. Successfully completing the program, she ventured into the realm of yoga instruction. However, Anastasiia's passion for movement and learning remained insatiable. Eventually, she discovered Pilates, instantly falling in love with the method and all the intricacies associated with Pilates equipment.
Four years ago, Anastasiia delved into the realm of somatic movement and initiated her training in this approach. Somatics main focus is to "wake up" your own body to the fullest of your ability or desire. Because once you are aware of what you are doing you can look at other options. Anastasiia embraces each person as a unique and amazing human capable of healing and feeling their best.
Why I teach?
I take this quote by Thonas Hanna as a personal motto: “The human body is not an instrument to be used, but a realm of one’s being to be experienced, explored, enriched and, thereby, educated.” It is an honor for me to witness the body process.
What I’ve learned from Contrology:
Teaching is creating a culture of understanding effort. And the Contrology system teaches me how to apply that effort not only in physical exercises, but my life overall.
Education/Experience:
Noam Gagnon’s Beyond Pilates 500-hour Bridge Teacher Training Program Graduate.
Master degree in fitness and recreation, Lolita’s Legacy Pilates Teacher Training Program certified, Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates certified, graduate of Somática femina in Instituto Macuil, graduate of introduction to Somatic Psychology training with Annie Brook.
